Aditi Lohe Blog Post 4

This picture represents the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India, led by leader Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi is known for leading a peaceful protest against Britain. He would rebel through simple acts but would never raise a hand against his opponent. No matter what others said or did to him, he remained nonviolent, and taught others to be as well. This is such an important moment in history. India was plagued with death and abuse around every corner, innocents were gathered and shot. Mahatma Gandhi led India out of British control. He set a precedent for leaders who came after him, such as Martin Luther King Kr., to fight without violence.
