Assignment 14:Jordan Carroll
Thanksgiving for my family is the exact same every single year. My mom has made the turkey and the white bread dressing for the past 25 years. About 7 years ago I started helping and learning how to do it myself so I can be passed down the turkey making responsibility when my mom decides she's had enough of it. My Aunt Lou has always made the cornbread dressing and sweet potatoes, and the rest of the family brings the other odds and ends. We always go to my Aunts house. She was once a Carroll but married into the Holcomb's, so her house is always the place where both families come together to celebrate the big holidays (since she's pretty much the reason they joined together). We always come over at 3, eat dinner at 4, and hang out for a couple hours after, catching up with the family members I see twice a year (once on thanksgiving and once on Christmas). Thanksgiving's never been one of my favorite holidays but my whole family loves it and we'll continue to do it the exact same way every single year.
