Thanks for the food, to show how thankful I am let me just eat all of it. Love Annie Deitz (blog post 14)

Happy not Thanksgiving, I'm a little late, oops. I thought I was doing a great job keeping up with these blog posts but apparently I missed a few. My thanksgiving was okay- there are parts of it which I would rather not relive. But I did enjoy getting to see my family. Normally my parents, siblings and I go to Nashville to visit my dad's family. My dad has eight uncles and aunts, so it's a little crazy. I know around 30% of the people present, but they all have known me since I was such a small child and think that it's crazy that I have reached an age that they can't remember/ never bothered to learn in the first place. Outside of the surfeit of delicious food, the only real highlight is their dog. His name is Midnight. His eyes are different colors. I frequently lay on him. I also frequently pet him. He's fluffy and very pretty.

Wait. Change all of the last six verbs so that they're in the past tense.

Yeah, so this really cool dog who one might be bold enough to call my best friend one day of the year decided to die. I'm honestly offended.

Anyways, back to the Deitz/Martin 2015 Thanksgiving. We went to Atlanta rather than going to Nashville. I enjoyed it more than I would have, I know all of my relatives by name and they all know what grade I'm currently in (at least roughly). We baked bread and we all had a good time.

You're probably wondering why my thanksgiving was only "okay."

I don't like thanksgiving.

I understand that I frequently use my blog posts to rant, and I'm not going to rant. I'm supposed to explain how my holiday went, and here's why it went poorly:

Giving thanks for something
by indulging in that something
seems hypocritical to me.
We could be actually giving back to society, sort of a "hey, thanks for giving me all of this, let me give something to someone less fortunate than I so that maybe they can feel the same way."

I guess I'm missing the point. I don't know. Just an idea.
