India is the most magical place I've ever been.
As you know I recently traveled there over Thanksgiving break. So as my own prompt, I've decided to write about my three favorite moments from the trip! I hope these are interesting!
1. The Taj Mahal
When we arrived at the Taj Mahal, it was full of people-- not that that's that surprising. When you first see the Taj it looks like something out of a dream. It's edges are soft and the lift from the sunrise gives it a magical golden glow. You then have your attention drawn to the architectural illusions. Such as how the Taj appears to move as you move closer or to either side of it. The water in front of the Taj holds a perfect reflection of the Taj itself making it ideal for photos! It really earned it's title as one of the 7 wonders.
2. The Safari
It was so cool! I'm a really big nature nerd so seeing all the animals so close made me extremely happy. The first trip out was done at sunrise and it was freezing! We saw lots of deer, monkeys, and birds. The second trip out was much more wild. We drove fast over paths, that really weren't paths. We were going straight up and straight down and almost completely on our sides. This was all so we could reach a restricted cliff where we watched two tigers through binoculars. It's hard to explain why, but it's much more magical to see animals in the wild than in a zoo.
3. The Village Walk-through
We went through a small farming village that only had 300 people. To see how they lived such modest lives in such happiness was extremely refreshing. And the highlight of that walk through was the children who followed us around, begging us to take their picture so they could see themselves. It was so adorable when they demonstrated the English they had learned so far (the alphabet, numbers 1-20, and how to ask our names).
If I were to change anything about my trip, I would've moved it so our tour overlapped with one of the many, many festivals India was famous for. I would love to experience that part of India's culture!
