What makes a good movie a good movie?
A lot of factors go into making a movie good. And they are never quite really consistent. Which leads me into the one thing that makes movies good: being unique. In a sort of ‘only sequences change’ situation, being unique is one of the most common characteristics in a great movie. No one wants to watch the same crime movie over and over with just different titles and actors, even if the story is cool and actors good. Its boring. Things need to be turned around. Speaking being turned around; Memento is a great example of how uniqueness brings greatness and life to movies. The whole timeline is flipped in this movie. It begins at the end. It’s this freshness that makes it amazing
Ok so maybe being unique isn’t the only thing that makes movies great, but it is in my opinion one of the most important.
