Tabbi Coffman #10: Overthought to avoid being overrun.

Okay... so Zombies have attacked...

First let's address our setting. We're in Kentucky. On a population standpoint we're in a pretty good place. There's really only two cities: Lexington and Louisville. The rest of Kentucky is much less populated, and bonus points they probably all have guns that they know how to use. On a geographical standpoint KY is damn near perfect. We have a ridiculous amount of deer, we also have lot's of fresh streams and lakes, and fertile land.

My personal plan was to remain in my neighborhood. I live in the Hartland Estates. There's a 8/9 foot tall 3 foot wide brick wall around the whole place except for one area that just has a 9 foot wooden fence. Obviously that would have to be reinforced by either metal or stones. Then there's the gate itself which would absolutely have to be reinforced. Personally I would also want barbed wire on top and on the bottom of the whole wall. Oh, and those stakes that zombies run into and then get stuck on. Look outs every 30 feet or so would be a must.

On survival, there's a lot of houses around my neighborhood that are easily accessible. Plus there's a grocery store close by, with luck we'd be able to take as many supplies as possible from that. As a further benefit there's a good amount of empty lots so that could be used for farming, though I'd hope with time we could extend our perimeters to the huge, empty farm behind the neighborhood.

The goal of this survival spot would be to sustain, defend, and eradicate. People who aren't able bodied would stay in to help sustain supplies. The others would be boarder control. Then anyone able bodied (preferably able bodied and a good shot) would go out and kill as many zombies as possible, or collect supplies either by looting or hunting.

I don't know how well that would work, but that'd be my plan.

...

I've thought about this a lot more than I'd like to admit.
