Post 7- Thomas Winterton

On October 1st, 1937 the marijuana tax act was passed, which basically stated that marijuana could not be sold without a licence, with such licenses never being given out, stopping the sale of cannabis. This law led to the illegalization  of marijuana. This is good in that it has given science time to become capable of truly understanding if marijuana is dangerous or not.

This influences life in the U.S, today as there is a constant, great debate over whether or not pot is acceptable for recreational use.

I personally appreciate this event as I stated before has given science the chance to analyze if pot is bad for you. Now whether if pot is socially acceptable is a whole other debate which will undoubtedly hinder any progress on understanding what pot could and couldn't do to society.
